The Resort
Crusoe’s Retreat is a small, intimate resort located on Fiji’s famous Coral Coast. With only 29 Fiji-inspired Bures, Crusoe’s is a relaxed, tropical getaway. Located next to a traditional Fijian village, you are encouraged to visit our friendly neighbors, and experience firsthand how time-honoured traditions and ancient customs continue to shape everyday life, and see for yourself why Fijians are consistently recognized as the friendliest people on earth.
While Crusoe’s Retreat is a boutique resort, it features all of the services you would expect from a much larger resort. Many complimentary activities are available to our guests. A full service Tour Desk can arrange for exciting excursions and adventures around the island. Crusoe’s Restaurant serves fresh local dishes, while the Cocktail Bar and thatched roof Coco’s Pool Bar are popular gathering places. A PADI scuba dive centre serves up world-famous Fiji diving, including full dive instruction. An expansive sun deck encircles our fresh-water swimming pool (our famous “Foot Pool”). Nightly entertainment delivers a true taste of Fiji. A boutique, internet-access, laundry facilities, and much more help deliver all the services you want, all with very friendly Fijian hospitality

Our SeaView Bures are perfect for single travelers or couples. Our Deluxe SeaView Bures and SeaSide Bures are perfect for couples or small families. Our Deluxe SeaSide Bures are private, romantic and exclusively for couples.

The resort has easy access to the nearby Mamanuca Islands, by boat from the resort’s new jetty or adjacent Vuda Yacht Marina.
The resort is nestled amidst magnificent tropical gardens, majestic palms and massive rain trees, just 15 minutes by road from Nadi Airport, and blessed with the only white sand beach in the Nadi area. The beach faces due west, giving breathtaking sunsets across the nearby islands.
We are a small, owner-operated resort, featuring a range of accommodation options from Fijian style Bures to our two bedroom, luxurious, self-catering Royal Villa or Garden Villas, each situated in their own enclosed tropical garden with a full sized pool. We also have a lively bar and popular beachside restaurant.

Oarsman’s Bay is the most impressive budget accommodation facility of the Yasawa Islands, near the historic village of Nacula. It’s a jewel in the indigenous tourism crown. The hilly volcanic Island is the third largest of the Yasawas group. It has four villages dotted around its perimeter. It is approximately 10 km long and 3 km wide. The village of Nacula is the home of Ratu Epeli Vuetibau Bogileka, the Tui Drola or High Chief. As the chiefly village, Nacula has the greatest population, with a medical centre and resident doctor, primary school, rugby ground and churches. Nacula has a rich village history, having been a strong hold of Methodist missionaries in the 19th century. The Island has many gorgeous beaches, rugged hills and stunning scenery.
Oarsman’s Bay lodge was built in 2000 and named in memory of village elders who once fished in open row boats in the lagoon. It was built for the village with the generous support of Richard Evanson, owner of Turtle Island. Its principle purpose is to provide an outstanding guest experience in the Yasawas, and to ensure the provision of 45 jobs for the village of Nacula. The Resort is located on one of Fiji’s most magnificent beaches and situated on a flat stretch of ocean front with a stunning mountainous backdrop. The crystal clear turquoise water and the white sand beaches make your visit into a fantastic dream.
Accommodation comprises six deluxe bures and two family bures, all with private facilities; a large dormitory and a camping ground is available as well.
The Resort offers a range of activities, great food, drinks and a warm friendly ambiance to its widely diverse international guests. Oarsman’s Bay Lodge has no minimum stay but three nights is strongly recommended as the minimum.
