The Ultimate Romantic Location Nov 21

Lauded as one of the world’s most exclusive resorts, Turtle Island was first thrust into the international spotlight as the location of the Hollywood flick The Blue Lagoon and its remake starring the scantily-clad Brooke Shields. Since then it has developed a reputation for attracting a clientele ranging from pop stars to princesses, sporting heroes to senators

TURTLE ISLAND love is in the air

TURTLE ISLAND love is in the air

Described by Conde Nast Traveler as hyper-romantic, Turtle Island offers everything for the celebration and rekindling of true love and romance, all in one heavenly all-inclusive package.  From traditional Fijian wedding ceremonies, to French Champagne gourmet picnics on one of the island’s private beaches, to private cottages (“bures”) and personal beaches, Turtle has everything you could dream of for your romantic getaway.

Turtle Island is the Hollywood version of paradise come to life.  Lush greenery, pristine beaches, impossibly blue waters, and breath-taking expanses of beauty and nature create a location so unique, it seems to have been created for pure romance.
Turtle’s ambience and amenities are designed for couples who enjoy each other’s company – private bures and beaches, romantic picnics for two, intimate moonlit dinners at seaside, horseback riding at dawn, and relaxing and sensual massages.

These pleasures are enhanced by the warmth and gracious pampering of Turtle’s Fijian staff, who delight in sharing their island with each and every couple who visit.

STUFF ME Nov 05

GOVERNMENTS should just but out and let the tourist decide what to do  after all it’s there holidays FRANK B

I JUST READ THIS ARTICLE on e-travel blackboard

It is very revealing that with travel to Fiji booming, every single Aussie and Kiwi I spoke to while in Fiji last week could not understand why the Australia and New Zealand Governments had implemented travel advisories to Fiji.

A long time ago, a Fiji traveller told me that during a coup he was in a hotel on the Coral Coast having a great time when the then Aussie Government decided to send in warships to “rescue” Australians at risk.  He says the only risk he had was from falling coconuts!

So how can Australia and New Zealand get it so wrong?

Is it because the respective High Commissioners sit in their ivory towers in Suva with little to do and imposing advisories is exciting?

Who knows, but it is clear that not a single Aussie or Kiwi or even Fijian for that matter, has ever been at risk in Fiji at any time.

The net effect of all this is that Fiji has turned to China.  The Fiji government and tourism stakeholders Tuesday said that they expect tourism numbers to boom, as airlines increase their capacity.  Soon to come there will be direct flight from China to the Nadi as well a direct flight from Hong Kong to Nadi starting on Dec 3 – which also conveniently provides direct connectivity to the Europe market.

Fiji’s Tourism Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said opportunities and tourism numbers were expected to increase dramatically, and the Chinese Embassy in Fiji said the direct flight from Nadi to Hong Kong will boost tourist arrivals from China.

The Chinese Embassy Counselor in Fiji, Fei Mingxing, said the recent move by Air Pacific was a great one and would increase tourist numbers from Asian countries.

Japanese traffic has nosedived after the chopping of the Tokyo Nadi route.

So guys, with Fiji having the largest market share of Chinese visitors compared to its neighbouring Pacific island countries, hopes are high that tourism numbers will boom from China.  So on your future Fijian holidays, expect to see a lot more Chinese tourists on the beach and a lot more Chinese food on the menu and it also may well become very hard to get into resorts in Fiji – want someone to blame?  Then blame the out of touch Australian and New Zealand Governments!
