With a year- round tropical climate, a good tourist infrastructure, English as its main language and a phenomenal array of secluded beaches and resorts, travel in Fiji is easy. Almost everywhere are vibrant coral reefs teeming with fish ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving. Its most charming fiji-21attraction though is the adventure of exploring – beyond the seductive beach resorts you’ll find remote villages with burly yet fantastically hospitable Fijians living a traditional subsistence lifestyle much the way their ancestors did hundreds of years ago.
Viti Levu is the main island with the international airport at Nadi. There are lots of large beach resorts here and the island has outstanding rainforest with plenty of interesting day tours to explore the region.

Offshore from Nadi is the ever popular but rather Mamanuca Islands – a collection of small coral islands and holiday resorts with some great surfing sites. Beyond is the more secluded Yasawa Islands with remote beaches, backpacker hideaways and beautiful snorkelling lagoons.fiji-dive
You might say there are two types of visitors who come to the Mamanucas Islands of Fiji: Hardcore surfers and anyone else looking for a small, private island paradise.

The surfers have been making the journey to these stunning coral islands since the mid-1980s, since word first started to get around about an extraordinary surf spot called Cloudbreak off Tavarua Island. Meanwhile, the trend toward exclusive private island resorts blossomed throughout Fiji, especially in the Mamanucas, close to Fiji’s international airport in Nadi on the island of Viti Levu.fiji-surf

Tavarua remains a surfer’s playground, but if you’re looking for a comfortable bure, white-sand beaches, and the pleasures of warm water and sun (these islands have the best weather in Fiji), you have your pick among a dozen resorts (and a few backpacker retreats) on some sister isles: Beachcomber Island, Malolo Levu, Malolo Lailai, Mana, Matamanoa, Naviti, Qalito Island, Treasure Island, Tokoriki, and Vomo. Some have less than a dozen bures. The islands themselves range from flat atolls to others that offer lush hilly walks with waterfalls and brilliant flowers

Fiji ranks in the top 10 scuba diving destinations in the world and the very best dive sites are located in the Northern Islands and Southern Islands. Both offer rich tropical rainforest and hiking trails with plenty of specialist dive resorts.

Discerning travellers will enjoy exploring the Lomaiviti Group off the east coast of Viti Levu whilst further east, extending towards Tonga, is the Lau Group, a collection of almost 100 remote islands with traditional culture is the Lau Group which are rarely visited by tourists there is limited limited accommodation.

The isolated Polynesian island of Rotuma in the far north of the group . lacks accommodation and is very expensive to get to.
